Nana Technology Charter
Personalisation is powerful only when it is responsible. This charter sets out how we want Nana’s technology to behave, what we will never pretend it can do and the standards we use when making product decisions.
OUR COMMITMENTS
01
The person comes before the prediction
Nana uses data to support a woman’s choices, not to define her. A recommendation should create clarity, never take away agency.
02
Context matters
No single metric- including cycle phase, weight, HRV or training load – tells the whole story. Nana combines multiple signals and leaves room for the athlete’s own experience.
03
Personalisation is not certainty
An individualised answer can still be wrong. We will be clear about uncertainty, limitations and the difference between guidance and medical advice.
04
Health outweighs optimisation
When performance goals and health signals pull in different directions, our product should prioritise health and encourage appropriate human support.
05
Women are not one data set
We do not treat all women, cycles, contraceptive methods, life stages or sporting backgrounds as interchangeable. We test for blind spots and keep widening the experiences that inform the product.
06
Science is a process
We use the best relevant evidence available, involve domain experts and revise our approach as knowledge develops. We will not turn early findings into universal rules for the sake of a cleaner headline.
07
Humans remain accountable
Technology may help generate or adapt guidance, but Nana’s team remains responsible for the systems we build, the safeguards we set and the choices we make.
08
Data earns trust through restraint
We collect data with a clear purpose, limit access, protect it appropriately and do not use intimate health information to manipulate or shame athletes.
Nana should never sound more certain than the evidence, know more than the data allows or matter more than the woman using her.
